Technology and the Village...

The FIRST Digital iGeneration (1980-2013)  is a challenge since a majority of the long time teachers are  * "Digital Immigrants"  Born before 1980.  Blending the two (Both AND. not either or - John Dewey) How much is too much, How do we get the the Elders to embrace technology and the youth to  be patient absorb their wisdom?
<>
Learning the Social etiquette  face to face and on  Facebook is important.  "Manners cost nothing but accomplish wonders" (Florena Batiste Johnson)   , we must learn to communicate with each other without offending.
How do we do that?
H=  Honest
O=  Open
W= Willing to Change

It takes  a Village
Spend Face to face time with each other....  Understand the background, that has not changed  the concept "know your audience"  We have become so comfortable hiding behind a computer, that we forget how to interact face to face.  People seem so uncomfortable or distant.  A recent study  said people are more apt to lie online because people can't see their eyes or body language.  I believe the less we socialize in person the more depressed which leads to other things, touch is a basic NEED and the more we isolate ourselves   WOW  I don't even want to mention it, and it will be years like anything else before we see the damage.  Do we want to take that risk? Let's get out of our comfort zones, and be willing to learn from each other to help make a positive change.
Hug someone you love for at least 20 seconds
SMILE at someone today, even if it is just you in the mirror
give your talents and leave this place better than you found it
<>
This is a start,
As an Immigrant, I am NOT against technology, I embrace it.  I am against "Rudeness" of any kind, and I think we should step up to the plate and not be afraid our "Digital Natives" , embrace them or we will lose them.
We need each other.
SAVE all of those "signed cards" because in a few years they will be very valuable ....

Leap into February....

What are you going to do on February 29th?
This happens  every four years....
Take a Leap of Faith...  Do something Positive and Fun that you will remember....  Love yourself Everyday  and enJOY   but on February 29th  Celebrate something unique!
Keep SMILE(ing) this  LEAP YEAR!
"Go for it"

First Month of 2012.... gone

What have we done?
What are the plans for the next 11 months?
How can we make a difference?
We all say the same thing every year, and WOW  the year is gone and some of us are in the same place.
<><><><>
Just recently, I came to the conclusion what would I want people to know about me when I am gone?  What do I have in my house, what have I done  to leave this place better?  I am here for a purpose, am I working it?
<>
This is just a thought.
<>
I want to continue to share knowledge
I am going to tell more people I Love them
I am going to de clutter (Let Go)
  Have more family reunions... (not at funerals)

The Game Has Changed! ...with the ...Digital Generation

A CHANGE HAS COME!  We must teach in a new way!  Wake up...
As you  have noticed by now, we have gone DIGTAL, and there are more cell phones than people.  WOW (google that)
+======
SOCIETY MUST STEP UP, update  we have brilliant children who process and learn in a different way!  We must step up to the plate and meet and nurture their brilliance!  Each child is gifted, and those born after 1980 digital Natives  ....  Born with internet available to them in the home...  And now going on the second generation where the children don't even remember VHS or  Records
====
I don't think we should go ALL Digital without  face to face interaction, empathy, and human connection...  we should stay connected  both ways, embrace the wisdom of our Elders (Grandmas hands)  and History,  and Digitally preserve it  for a richer future.
====
The Education system should provide ongoing training for our Teachers that are Digital immigrants, so they can keep up with our youth while learning  and sharing with the Digital Generation.
=====
Digitally Speaking:
All of the test scores are not low because of the students, it may just be the "OLD Way of Teaching"  It may jut be we are not aware of the "Digital Culture"  I don't think it is ALL intentional, it is ignorance.
====
Both And, not Either or (John Dewey)
As part of the village I think we should all TRY to blend the two societies because technology is not going away any time soon.
===
Youth, should tap into their history while teaching their parents and grandparents how to communicate with them and please just a tip:  Send hand written notes, and pick up a phone to call people over 60 years old, they still appreciate it, and who knows your signature may be very valuable one day!  Treat is as a special gift.
.......
I love the Social Network, especially for those who can not get out, or for relatives that live far away, it is a great way to keep in touch and should not be an excuse not to meet face to face.
>>>
Reality
We should have family reunions during happy times, not just funerals....
>>>
Hats off to those who meet often .... share....  We need to hear happy stories...,  Close families should be CELEBRATED!
>>>>
Side Bar...
Listen to Music  I Tunes   :  " Wake up Everybody.... "  (Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes)  and   "A Change is Gonna Come....  " (Sam Cooke or Seal) , GrandMa's Hands (Bill Withers)
and Family Reunion (OJAYS) ,  All great themes  songs for this Blog  ....

Blessing of the Animals

WOW this was a new concept for me... (12 years ago)  Blessing Animals...  At my church  St Marks Episcopal , Altadena the FIRST Sunday in October Every Year 10AM, we get to bring our animals  birds  etc to church to be blessed, we talk about Noah's Ark, and sing wonderful Animal Songs...  A message and the animals are sooo good.  Yes it is outside  and so wonderful.  The Pastors come around and BLESS each animal and the congregation also take communion it is nice.  I was saying to someone I would LOVE to have "Church"  outside EVERY WEEK if we could.  I know I can just do it myself, but it is nice to have company.  Our church ONCE per year on Memorial Day Weekend have Family Camp on Catalina Island  and We have Worship Service On Sunday Awesome... simple yet so spiritual.
<>
I would say Try it, Connect with Nature while camping or in your back yard (where two or more are gathered...)
Children, Animals....  Nature  AwesomE  Try it  and let me know how you like it.    No Technology just Nature   Keep SHARING your SMILE

August...Family...Youth.... Life!

Well August is here! with only four months to go in 2011!  Where has the time gone?  Have you used it wisely? I have to admit "I have NOT" I should have been studying and writing grants and sorting and cleaning  whoa.....   I did not, oops  I just SMILED and did Me, nursed me...  Loved playing each week as it came...  healed and cried and laughed...  Now I am refreshed...  did anything else change?  As  a matter of fact, less Money (happier) , less "Stuff"  Love it, Less "BusyNESS" (ahhh)  ...  maybe I take the first answer back "I DID use my time wisely, sometimes it is not what you DO, but what you "Don't do" , focus on
FAMILY (More of)
The YOUTH (always invest)
and LIFE  (enJOY)
====
August is Family Reunion and Youth Month, a time of sharing your Life...  Joy of Living with Family and recognizing OUR Youth.  If you want to live forever, invest in a youth...
===
We should take the  time and enjoy and nurture our youth... yes our future, pass on the wisdom, it does not help if we are trying to be "as young" as they are, they truly need someone to look up to, show how we have "Survived" and are willing to learn from and help them in their journey.  And even through the rough times there is HOPE, that is what Family Reunions are for, Passing it on,  That is why children are born...  to help keep History alive...  and that is what the gift of life is "The Present" ...  EnJOY  EnJOY... share your SMILE....  it is the fuel for LIFE

Too Much Information (TMI)

Too much information (TMI)
<>
Remember the old sayings " Little Pitchers have BIG ears" and Every shut eye ain't sleep, and every goodbye ain't gone?".  I remember  spelling certain things in front of my children, and having parties where the children were in the other room...  being monitored, because of "grown folk" conversation etc... we have gone from silencing our children to allowing them to say TOO MUCH...  there has to be a balance.
<>
Today I see children...  under 13  all up in ADULT conversations (including :Talking Back, cursing) , and Adults holding conversations in front of children that make ME Blush that is TMI, and the excuse is "Well they see and hear worse than this on TV and Video!"  "HELLO!"  Does that mean we have to perpetrate it?
I think we should protect our children, and use situations as teachable moments.  Just because it is "Popular" does not mean it is right!  When they are small we "Think it is cute"  As they get older, we are embarrassed and wonder why we can't control it
<>
In this information age, protect yOUR children from TMI
<> Suggestions
Monitor Dress, TV Programs and Movies, Peer Groups, Pop in at School, Sit with them at the Computer have them TEACH you, write (Journal) with them, Walk with them...  play "Board Games"  (OK  Games on Computer) socialize with your child.  eat dinner at least once per month ... "Dress up, and have the children 'set'  the table"
compliment and hug them daily!  Focus more on the positive than negative!
<>
These are things I wish I would have concentrated more on when my children were young, I now have a second chance with my grandchildren...  and others.  It is NEVER too late to mentor a child.
Thanks for SMILE(ing

What about the Children?

As I sit here, the first hour of July 19th, my grandson Christian's 11th Birthday.  I say to myself...  "What about the children?"  In the news there is so much violence and deceit .... technology is so advanced it is moving so fast we can hardly keep up!  What about the children? This is the first generation where the students "digitally" seem to be more advanced than their parents and teacher's .  Too Much Information (TMI) for the average child to process.   It is challenging for adults... "What about the children?"
<>
Just think,  all of this information available to our children before their brains are developed enough to handle it "without supervision"  Machines have become the "Baby Sitters" and then we expect them to be "Social"  No wonder people feel more comfortable in a "Virtual Society" where they can create their own "Avatar" image, and put out there (cyberspace)  just what they want people to see "Perception"
<>
I am finding more and more eye contact is becoming more difficult (uncomfortable) for society.
Are we afraid people will not see we are not "Perfect?" (Eyes ...  the windows of our soul)
<>
What about the Children?
If we focus on what is good for our children, tap into their gifts, nurture them.  Treat our teachers like royalty and constantly upgrade their skills so they will be a step ahead of the student' s ,  affordable housing in the neighborhoods where they teach.  We would see a 180 degree turnaround . I believe it is the answer to the health crisis, budget, housing and more!  How?  People will be happier, working to leave this place better than they found it.  "What about the Children?"
<>
I am not saying keep technology from our youth, but their should be guidelines, and warnings similar to those on certain toys and foods.
It takes common sense like anything else.  We watch what our children eat, we make sure their dress is "Age Appropriate" , we do not allow them to drive without  training and a drivers license YET we let them go online without instruction/precautions.  What about the children?
<>
The solution is "Learn with Them!"  It is almost impossible to keep it from them,  the more you say "NO"  the more tempting it will be for them to "Sneak"  Join them and make a positive educational experience out of it for everyone.
<>
NOTE:
Parents/guardians  and extended family are ultimately responsible, because I do believe, from the African Proverb "It takes a village..."
I would LOVE feedback on this topic, and other solutions...  Technology is here to stay!  I am for learning and moving ahead! In addition to protecting and helping "OUR Children!"

"Manners Cost Nothing...." Need your help

"Manners cost nothing but accomplish wonders"  Shared by Florena Batiste Johnson to her son Landy W Johnson  often.  I have been sharing this in my program for over 10 years.
<>
Need your help....
Some of the children today seem to lack the very basic manners such as saying " please, thank you,  excuse me"  in addition they seem to be unaware of "Personal Space"  ,  Age (occasion)  appropriate Dress, respect for elders, and they seem to have a sense of entitlement.  I am shocked  and comment when I run across a child with "basic manners"  that should not be.  OR IS IT ME? Maybe I am just too old school to think  our children should have manners, there are occasions where I am in the room and the parent is present, and I am waiting to see if the paren it going to put the child "In Check", with a look, or a comment, or an apology to The surrounding customers etc...  not even a sign of embarrassment, as if this is "Normal" Behavior for the child to be "Free" to express themselves even if it is disruptive or RUDE.
<>
Just recently, a local restaurant made the news because he refuses to serve children UNDER 6 years old.  He said "Parent don't have control of their children, and he has other customers to please....  your children may the the center of YOUR universe, but they are not the center of everyone's universe"
<>
Hats off, I can relate...  and want to share an experience I had PLEASE help and let me know what you would do (Love that show Friday Nights "What Would You Do?"
<>
MY SITUATION (Sorry for the Long BLOG
In a restaurant eating and reading in a nice little corner...  two young ladies (about 18-22yrs)  come to sit in the next table close to mine. They are talking loud (no problem) and I am reading.  All of a sudden one of the girls pulls out a tissue an BLOWS her nose like her brains are coming out, (I got nauseated), what made it worse she put the dirty tissue on the table.  I composed myself and continued reading...  about 10 minutes later she did it AGAIN!  Ahhhhh, by now  I am finished eating  and really out done (p@#$%!).  I wanted to tell her how rude it was, and she should have excused herself to go to the restroom, or outside  and wash her darn hands and dispose of the tissue.  I was so close to saying it  and I didn't.  My question is this
"What would YOU do?"  ....  Am I being too picky?  Is it just not my business?,  Should  I have moved?  From my comfortable space...  so she can continue to do it? I am NOT a "Miss Manners" by no means, but things like that, in additon  to coming your hair at the table, or putting on full makeup among other things is just plain RUDE... Help me...
e-mail  :  smileladyjoy@gmail.com  with the subject "Manners"  or you can reply to this BLOG.  I am serious, has times changed that much?  Where are the parents? Guardians?  clearly  quite a few children are raising themselves

Thanks for SMIL(ing)

California Fireworks! The heat

It is Hotter than the Fireworks in CALIFORNIA!  OUCH
<>
Well my first post for July!  Awesome month of June, I spoiled myself for MY Birthday for an entire week, even if it was just doing nothing (not even answering the phone) I LOVED it.   I try to do something I have NEVER done each birthday.
===
I don't know why it took me soooo long to figure this out (spoiling myself).  I found Waiting on people (or expecting)  disappoints more often than not.

Note:  When you set out to spoil yourself, it is surprising how good it feels,  and it  also gives you more energy to spoil others.  I hope that makes sense.
===
Well back to reality, this  first week in July and it is VERY WARM 100+ and humid in California ahhh
What am I doing here, I am a rain and snow baby...  overcast and cool.
===
My favorite time is between Late Fall thru Spring (maybe early summer)  From Late June to September, not too good for me.
===
Fireworks in CALIFORNIA, very unusual to be this "Humid"
I will adjust and drink more water ...  work late like  I am doing now,   and walk very early,  go places where they pay for the Air, movies, mall etc... and keep my fans going
===
Of course I know in the heat there is refining and growth... and I will use this time and weather wisely.  I will enJOY the beauty of the Fireworks of life and relish the cool weather when it comes.  I guess I will get in the pool this week.  And go to the beach at night (my favorite time)  I love to BBQ at night, I look at people who BBQ in mid day and go WOW.... do they feel it  ha ha ... does the Sun do something special to the BBQ?  Just a thought, seems winter or very late night is the best time to light up a HOT GRILL ....

Summer Time...is the Livin' Easy?

Only you can answer that,
What makes it "Easy" ,  maybe not "Trouble FREE" but EASY...

Spring into Summer with a SMILE...

Well the last day of Spring....  I love the seasons, especially back east... In CA the seasons sort of "Blend"
back east there are visual difference....
 ...
I like to embrace the seasons with certain memories...  Spring is fresh and decluttering,  Summer is growth and reflection, Fall is meditation   winding down  rejuvenation, and Winter is a time for total Thankfulness and rest reflection of the Blessings.
....
Spring into Summer June 21, and do/plan something you have never done before no matter how small.  even if it just spoiling yourself at the SPA.
...
I came to realize that some people (including myself) will spend more money on Storage or their Car, and say "The SPA" is a waste of money?  WOW how many years I have wasted.  The last 13 years I have been going to the SPA and I think I am worth every penny!  YES  get a baby sitter and go SPOIL yourself!  Pamper YOU  Spring into Summer with a SMILE!

Happy Father's Day and Juneteenth

Also Go to:
http://www.juneteenth.com/history.htm
=====
Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the ending of slavery in the United States.  Dating back to 1865, it was onJune 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that theenslaved were now free. Note that this was two and a half years afterPresident Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation - which had become official January 1, 1863. The Emancipation Proclamation had little impact on the Texans due to the minimal number of Union troops to enforce the newExecutive Order. However, with the surrender of General Lee in April of 1865, and the arrival of General Granger’s regiment, the forces were finally strong enough to influence and overcome the resistance.

Father's Day, a holiday which honors fathers worldwide, is celebrated in the United States on the third Sunday of June. It originated in the United States in 1910, a few years after the country began celebrating Mother’s Day. Father’s Day became an official U.S. holiday in 1972.

I know this year Juneteenth falls on Father's Day...  and that is a good thing, we can celebrate our Kings  and true fathers (and Single Mothers)  while paying tribute for those who gave their lives so we can be free.  Teach our children....

Mid week, Mid Month, Mid Year WOW

2012 is almost here.  Reflect and see how much you have accomplished (or not)
Be thankful for the Gift of "The Present"
What do you have planned for the rest of the year?
====
These are all of the things I ask myself...  I say "Where has the year gone?"
I meant to do this etc....
====
I am still deCLUTTERING because, I am no longer happy looking at all of the "Stuff" I have accumulated! As the saying goes, if it no longer makes you happy change or  get rid of it  "I am talking about STUFF"
====
Now we can also apply that to relationships that we hold on to that are only meant for a "Season"
we are like little children sometimes "Everyone is your Best Friend FOREVER"  that is not true.  Some people are in your life for a certain reason, and move on.  Let it GO.  It could be a simple life lesson for the day, a great listener for a year, or a lifetime friend.  You will know if you "Tune In"
===
MID LIFE (55+)  Now you know who your friends are, you pretty much know how to discern the "Temp" friends, or should I say "Associates"  for example :  Bowling associates, Work Associates, Social Club Associates, School Associates etc...
===
We should all have at least one BFF (Best Friend Forever)  That you can Trust and Depend on, Two is Nice!  Three Gets to be Work...  and 1,000  like on facebook  NOT POSSIBLE...  All relationships take WORK, TIME, SACRIFICE, COMMUNICATION...  it is a family necessary BUT Work has to be put in for it to GROW!
Nurture your relationships and remember it is a GIVE and TAKE...

As the legend goes, it was George Washington and two other members of the Continental Congress who asked Betsy Rossto sew the first American flag sometime in the late spring of 1776. The young widow was only in her early 20's when she completed the first flag with thirteen stars arranged in a circle.

A year later, the Continental Congress officially adopted the design for the national flag, and henceforward the Stars and Stripes symbolized the U.S. around the world.

The first "official" Flag Day was celebrated in 1877 - the flag's centennial. In 1916, a grass roots movement resulted in President Woodrow Wilson issuing a proclamation that called for a nationwide observance of Flag Day on June 14. Although still not an official holiday, Flag Day was made a permanent observance in America in 1949 by Congress who resolved "That the 14th day of June of each year is hereby designated as Flag Day."

Flag Day fun facts

Why red, white and blue? To the original members of the Continental Congress, red stood for hardiness and courage, white for purity and innocence, and blue for vigilance and justice.

Half Birthday in June...

Well today Monday (June 13) is my Son's '"Half Birthday" (Dec 13)
I learned about this term from children who had Birthdays around Holidays or when school was out.
I wish I had known about this when I was younger.
My birthday is June 29th  No school, and just before the 4th or July... Ha Ha  so I did not have the privilege to have classroom parties, etc...  even if I had a "Half Birthday"  It would be around Holiday Break  LOL

Cell Phone/Internet a luxury or necessity

Last week I went thru serious withdrawal!  Yes me, "Ms Technology"  After conducting a 9 month No Tech weekend study from September 2010 thru June 6, 2011.  Just as the study ended, my Cell phone, which does everything but drive my car CRASHED!  AHHHHHH  would not even turn on when I took it to the "Store"  I will not mention the type phone, because the issue is my REACTION to No Phone...
<>
I went thru serious withdrawals...  during my research I had "control" so to speak, and as the months went on, I prepared myself, planned ahead, notified everyone of my study and put a Automatic Reply to everyone on my list  who contacted me via e-mail.
===
Last Thursday was the TRUE Test, yes...  No warning Cell Phone crashed.  ALL Contacts, Calendar Info, Journal, Navigation etc...  Could not be retrieved because no power.
===
I had to do it on my own, I felt like the cashiers at certain restaurants that push "Picture Buttons"  and the machine tells them how much change to give, when they are down...  some can't count out the change...
I was LOST Literally without my Navigation, could not call the people regarding my appointment  it was in the phone.  I finally got a "Loaner"  which had none of my contacts...  and they told me it would take about 10 days to get my new phone which was under warranty and had insurance.
I am still trying to figure out the phone, I am still lost without all of my "Personal Stuff"  That everyone now has access to trying to fix the darn thing, I did back up everything before it crashed and Pray I have it all.
The opening is Cell Phone and Internet a Luxury or Necessity?
For Me Personally? A Necessity!  Sad, but True
After all the research I was in doubt  (or Denial) until my phone crashed.  Now the next study is going an entire week without.  For me, it is harder than fasting from "Food"

SMILE(ing) from the inside...

Eating right is getting a little easier for me,
I recently started monitoring what I eat everyday mentally or in a journal the goal is to go half raw daily.
<>
It is not as hard as I thought and I can also add cooked vegetables which means I am about 2/3 fiber
<>
I love my fish, turkey , chicken and hardly have room for it if I eat the vegetables first.
<>
I have a way to go for it to become "Natural"  I am thinking about it now, and I am even buying things that are gluten free or vegetarian version of soups, and I am not a vegetarian.
I just recently they even have Vegan Marshmellows
Whoa, that is deep.
=====
If we teach our children at an early age, they will enjoy 2/3 vegetable life style and will most likely not miss the "meat" .   Staying active is also key.
and don't forget "Water, Water, Water..."  just adding more of that alone works wonders!

Memorial Day (1868)... Thank You! Share a Red Poppy...

Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation's service. There are many stories as to its actual beginnings, with over two dozen cities and towns laying claim to being the birthplace of Memorial Day. There is also evidence that organized women's groups in the South were decorating graves before the end of the Civil War: a hymn published in 1867, "Kneel Where Our Loves are Sleeping" by Nella L. Sweet carried the dedication "To The Ladies of the South who are Decorating the Graves of the Confederate Dead" (Source: Duke University's Historic American Sheet Music, 1850-1920). While Waterloo N.Y. was officially declared the birthplace of Memorial Day by President Lyndon Johnson in May 1966, it's difficult to prove conclusively the origins of the day. It is more likely that it had many separate beginnings; each of those towns and every planned or spontaneous gathering of people to honor the war dead in the 1860's tapped into the general human need to honor our dead, each contributed honorably to the growing movement that culminated in Gen Logan giving his official proclamation in 1868. It is not important who was the very first, what is important is that Memorial Day was established. Memorial Day is not about division. It is about reconciliation; it is about coming together to honor those who gave their all.
=====

=====
Traditional observance of Memorial day has diminished over the years. Many Americans nowadays have forgotten the meaning and traditions of Memorial Day. At many cemeteries, the graves of the fallen are increasingly ignored, neglected. Most people no longer remember the proper flag etiquette for the day. While there are towns and cities that still hold Memorial Day parades, many have not held a parade in decades. Some people think the day is for honoring any and all dead, and not just those fallen in service to our country.
====
On January 19, 1999 Senator Inouye introduced bill S 189 to the Senate which proposes to restore the traditional day of observance of Memorial Day back to May 30th instead of "the last Monday in May". On April 19, 1999 Representative Gibbons introduced the bill to the House (H.R. 1474). The bills were referred the Committee on the Judiciary and the Committee on Government Reform.

I love fried Green tomatoes and Fried Egg Plant.  etc...
I also love "Sauted" vegetables

This weekend I got up and for breakfast had a taste for fried eggplant and applesauce  with Toast and catfish/red snapper...  Yes may sound weird but it was GREAT!
====
The Twist was this:  Cinnamon on the EGG PLANT (un Planned)
I was thinking about the French Toast I made the day before for Breakfast (Yes Breakfast is my FAVORITE meal)
===
I fixed my Egg Plant batter:
Two Eggs
Non Fat Milk
Garlic to Taste
Pepper To Taste
Sea Salt a Pinch
Then ahhhhh The Cinnamon...  Lots  (oops)
<>
Yellow Cornmeal (Dry) and Season Salt
<>
Med Sized sliced Egg Plant
<>
Vegetable Oil (Hot) for frying
<>
Dips:  Your Taste:  BBQ Sauce, Braggs Amino, Hot Sauce or Salsa...  Go For it
===
And the Accident was
Cinnamon (Thought I was making French Toast = oops)
Well I said to myself "Can't Hurt"   so I continued, I  dipped the Eggplant (slice in med size circles)
Dry Cornmeal and Season Salt Mix
and Fried in my HOT Vegetable Oil
And Prayed (ha ha )
You Degrease by placing it on Paper towels ,
and then  I ate it with "Hickory Smoked BBQ Sauce"  (While Piping hot of course... hot sauce sizzles)
some with Hot Sauce, some with Braggs Amino...  It was FANTASTIC!
 I was pleasantly surprised and I put a LOT of Cinnamon in the Milk egg mix
Cinnamon Eggplant is on my List from now on...  Please tell me if you like it....

Going 50% Raw (Veg) with Sharron Denise... 2011

Well I am going to bite the bullet next week and go 50% Raw  Diet, I have some health challenges and i know it can't hurt  eating raw VEGETABLES ,  along with my cooked Greens etc...
<>
I have always believed that most of a person's diet should be vegetables and fruit and I actually plan my meals around "The Vegetables"  I am NOT a vegetarian, or do I desire to be, but I do want to eat healthier, and modify my portions.  drink more WATER  and The most important thing for me is to move more  , at least 10,000 steps per day.   Walking, Swimming, just do something... and I don't have to be training for a "Marathon"
<>
I find that I am busy, but not physically.  And mentally i am so drained  I don't move I just want to crash with a good book  and that does not burn calories, so I have to eat less...  but guess what, laying around  makes you hungry (GUFFAW) ...  "Got me going in circles...."

Well I am going to take the challenge  "Going Raw with Sharron Denise "  for 30 days
and just see what a difference it makes, I will keep everyone posted on the results
